      If there is one thing that has been taught to many, especially over the course of the 2020 pandemic, it's that connection with those close to us is important. People maintained their connections and helped to deal with the troubling events of the world by communicating online on mediums such as video calling, calling, texting, social media, etc.      Even before the pandemic intensified how people communicate with each other technologically, people have used the internet to help strengthen their connections with other people since its birth. Email has been a convenient alternative to handwritten letters that allows messages to be sent instantly and received by people in a much shorter time frame. It also still allows for the classic letter format to convey messages to those we miss from afar in a less casual manner.     This image/political cartoon above is a great example of criticizing a massive problem within the food industry. Both each image within the cartoon and the caption used help to painfully portray the sorry state of the agricultural and processing part of the food industry. It also demonstrates how far these corporations go to achieve good looking food over organic and natural food.      The first image shows a machine that appears to be lasering the ground of any other possible plants or weeds that are growing where the crops are being grown.  The machine also is emitting tons of smoke from running. This image is supposed to demonstrate the practice of using lasers before growing crops can be harmful and inorganic. The process itself discourages plant diversity which ultimately helps crops to thrive longer as it produces better soil each year.      This year's black Friday has shed light on how dumbed down the coveted holiday sales day has become in recent years. There were many stores that did not have insane black Friday crowds as in years before. Many stores only experienced slightly busier days instead of bracing for manic customers running around with carts of products. The truth of it is that there are many factors why Black Friday isn't the same anymore. Many recent developments and events have helped to shape this.      The first, and biggest culprit of why the Black Friday crowds weren't all there was due to the easy accessibility of online shopping.
